Le Fisherman is a cluster video slot from Hacksaw Gaming, released on February 5, 2026. It is the latest game in the Le series starring Smokey the raccoon: after Le Bandit, Le Pharaoh and Le King, the character has gone fishing. The grid has 6 reels and 5 rows, Cluster Pays mechanics, three bonus games and a maximum of x15,000 the bet.

The JoyFactory team opened the Le Fisherman demo, took apart the Golden Squares mechanic, compared the cost and return of each bonus buy option and checked how achievable the advertised maximum is in practice. The main finding concerns RTP, and it does not favor the player.

Pros

  • x15,000 maximum — one of the highest among the slots we have reviewed
  • 42% hit frequency — a win almost every other spin
  • Three bonus games instead of one template round
  • Super Cascades remove all symbols of the winning type, not just the cluster
  • Bets from €0.10 — a low entry threshold

Cons

  • RTP versions go down to 86.25%, more than ten percentage points below the base
  • The maximum can only be reached through Smokey Under Water, which cannot be bought
  • The x250 and x500 bonus buys have higher volatility
  • The provider is new to the Ukrainian market, so availability at casinos has to be checked
  • No gamble feature

Le Fisherman is a modern slot with rich mechanics and real potential, noticeably more rewarding than classic machines capped at a few hundred times the bet. The main caveat concerns not the game itself but the RTP version your operator has set.

PLAY
CoinsPlay for real money

Le Fisherman is available in demo mode with no registration or deposit. The demo reproduces the mechanics of the real game, including the bonus buy menu, so you can try all five options with play credits and see how they work.

For this slot, the demo is especially useful. The Golden Squares mechanic, with squares building up and being activated by Rainbow, is not obvious from a description; you need to see it. Likewise, it is worth testing the expensive buys with play money before spending x250 or x500 of a real bet.

Keep in mind, though, that the demo usually launches in the base RTP configuration. If your operator has set a lower version, the real game will differ from what you saw for free.

How we tested

Gameplay of the Le Fisherman video slot from Hacksaw Gaming

Le Fisherman was tested by Oleksandr Petrov, JoyFactory’s casino author.

The test was carried out in demo mode. We launched the game, took apart the cluster and Super Cascades mechanics, checked how Golden Squares work, opened the bonus buy menu and recorded the cost and declared return of each option.

We did not take any statistical measurements. The declared 42% hit frequency comes from the provider’s data, not from our own counts: reliably verifying this figure takes tens of thousands of spins. Wherever we quote Hacksaw figures, we say so explicitly.

What we checked

Cluster mechanics Confirmed — from 5 symbols horizontally and vertically
Super Cascades Confirmed — all symbols of the type are removed
Golden Squares Confirmed
Bonus buy options Five, cost and RTP recorded
Gamble feature Not found — the game does not have one
RTP versions Differ between operators, see below

Le Fisherman RTP and volatility

The base RTP of Le Fisherman is 96.33%, which is above the market norm. But you cannot take this figure for granted: Hacksaw supplies the game in several return configurations, and the operator decides which one the casino installs.

RTP versions

96.33% Base configuration — recommended by the provider
94.33% Lower version
92.34% Lower version
86.25% Lowest version
Who chooses The casino operator during integration
Where to check The game's info panel at the specific casino

The gap between the top and bottom versions is more than ten percentage points. This is not a cosmetic difference: in the 86.25% configuration, the house edge is almost four times higher than in the base one. Formally you are playing the same game with the same maximum; in practice, the maths is fundamentally different.

That is why, for this slot, checking the RTP in the info panel is not a recommendation but a mandatory step before depositing. Most regulated operators are required to disclose the actual value on request, even if it is not shown by default.

Hacksaw rates the volatility at 3 out of 5, which means medium. Some review sites call the slot low-volatility, pointing to the high hit frequency of 42%, almost every other spin. The two descriptions do not contradict each other: the base game really does run smoothly without long dry spells, and all the swings are concentrated in the bonus rounds.

In practice, this means your balance drains slowly in the Le Fisherman base game, but there are no big wins there either. Everything worth playing this slot for happens in the bonuses.

How clusters work

There are no traditional paylines here. A win is formed by a cluster — a group of five or more matching symbols connected horizontally or vertically anywhere on the 6×5 grid. Diagonal connections do not count.

Super Cascades are the main difference from regular cascades. When a cluster pays, the grid loses not only the symbols in that cluster but all symbols of that type on the screen. The grid clears much faster than in standard cascading slots, and one lucky spin can grow into a long chain of consecutive payouts.

The bigger the cluster, the higher the payout, which is the standard logic of the genre. In Le Fisherman, the wild substitutes for symbols in clusters but has no payout of its own.

Golden Squares and collector symbols

The Golden Squares mechanic came to Le Fisherman from earlier games in the series and is the basis of all the slot’s potential here.

  1. Creation. Every time a winning cluster pays, the positions under its symbols turn into golden squares.
  2. Accumulation. The squares stay inactive and build up over a series of cascades.
  3. Activation. They are revealed by the Rainbow or Epic Rainbow symbol.
  4. Payout. Coins or diamonds with a face value appear under the revealed squares — according to public data, up to x500 the bet each.

The game also has clover multipliers that apply to the collected amount. It is the combination of many golden squares with a high multiplier that produces the wins the slot was designed for.

The key takeaway for the player: a single cluster is worth almost nothing here. What matters is the length of the cascade sequence, because it determines how many golden squares build up before Rainbow appears.

Le Fisherman bonus games

The slot has three bonus rounds of different levels, and they differ not only in the cost of triggering them but also in their win cap.

Bonus rounds

On Thin Ice Triggered by three scatters
Slippery When Wet Triggered by four scatters
Smokey Under Water The top level — leads to the x15,000 maximum

The most important detail of the whole review. The x15,000 max win can only be reached through the Smokey Under Water round, and this round cannot be bought. None of the bonus buy options gives direct access to it.

This is essential to understanding Le Fisherman. The marketing presents x15,000 as the main selling point, but the path to that figure runs through a natural trigger of the top bonus, an event whose probability the provider does not disclose. Buying a bonus brings you closer to the bonus rounds, but not to the maximum.

Le Fisherman bonus buy

Hacksaw offers five paid entry options into the features. Importantly, they have different declared returns and different volatility, which is rare and worth looking at before you buy.

Buy options and their RTP

x3 — BonusHunt FeatureSpins 5 times higher chance of the bonus · RTP 96.33% · high volatility
x50 — Rainbow Trout FeatureSpins Guaranteed Rainbow or Epic on every spin · RTP 96.14% · high
x60 — On Thin Ice Triggers the bonus game · RTP 96.31% · medium volatility
x250 — Slippery When Wet Triggers the bonus game · RTP 96.25% · high volatility
x500 — Rainbow Epic Drop Guaranteed Epic Rainbow on every spin · RTP 96.28% · very high

The difference in return between the options is small, from 96.14% to 96.33%. Volatility, however, differs radically: the x500 option has very high volatility, so the result of a single purchase can deviate from the expected value several times over in either direction.

Practical takeaway. The best option by return is the cheapest one, x3 BonusHunt: it has the same 96.33% RTP as the base game. Expensive buys do not raise the return; they only shorten the time to the bonus and increase the swings.

Also bear in mind that all these figures apply to the slot’s base configuration. If the operator has set a lower RTP version, the return on each buy option will be lower too.

Bets in Le Fisherman

The bet range is from €0.10 to €50 per spin. The low end makes the slot accessible for cautious play despite its rich mechanics.

With the bonus buy, though, the arithmetic changes. At the minimum €0.10 bet, the x250 option costs €25 and the x500 option €50. In other words, one purchase equals hundreds of regular spins. For a player with a limited budget, expensive buys are not a way to speed up the game but a completely different level of risk.

The game offers autoplay, Turbo and Super Turbo modes to speed up the spins. Le Fisherman is fully optimized for mobile devices.

Other games in the Le series

Le Fisherman is not a standalone game but part of Hacksaw’s large franchise about Smokey the raccoon, released since 2023. The Golden Squares mechanic is shared by most games in the series; the theme, the maths and the win cap change.

Games in the series

Le Fisherman Released February 5, 2026, max x15,000 — this review
Le Bandit The first game in the series, official max x10,000
Le Pharaoh Egyptian theme
Le King Released June 26, 2025, max x20,000
Le Viking, Le Santa Other games in the series

Le Fisherman stands out in two ways: a higher maximum than Le Bandit and lower volatility than most games in the series. If earlier Le games felt too sharp to you, this one plays more smoothly.

Where to play Le Fisherman for real money in Ukraine

Hacksaw Gaming is a relatively new provider for the Ukrainian market, and Le Fisherman itself came out in February 2026. So it is worth checking that this particular game is available at a specific casino before you register — it is far from every catalog.

How to check whether the slot is available

  1. Filter by provider. Open the list of providers and find Hacksaw Gaming. If the studio is not on the list, the game will not be there either, and the remaining steps are unnecessary.
  2. Search by name. Type “Le Fisherman”. The results will also show other games in the series, such as Le Bandit, Le Pharaoh and Le King, so look carefully.
  3. Check the RTP version. Launch the demo and open the game’s info panel. For this slot, this step is mandatory: the difference between 96.33% and 86.25% is bigger than any welcome bonus.
  4. Bonus buy availability. Check that the Feature Buy menu is active, as it may be disabled in some jurisdictions and by some operators.

Why we do not recommend offshore platforms

Le Fisherman is present in the large catalogs of casinos without a Ukrainian license. But for this slot in particular, offshore play is more dangerous than for classic machines.

The reason is a combination of two factors. First, the slot has RTP versions as low as 86.25%, and no one but the operator itself controls which one it has installed — the Ukrainian regulator does not check offshore platforms. Second, the x15,000 maximum at a €50 bet is €750,000, a sum that is guaranteed to hit monthly withdrawal limits.

Our section on unlicensed casinos documents caps of €5000 per month and payout delays of up to 45 days. For a slot with this kind of potential, it means you simply will not collect a big win in a single payment, and you will have no way to complain to PlayCity.

Offshore operators are rated on a separate scale: the safety ceiling there is about 3.0 out of 10, even with a valid certificate.

The full ranking of licensed operators is on the licensed casinos in Ukraine page.

Le Fisherman rating

  • Maths (30%) 6/10
  • Win potential (25%) 9/10
  • Features (20%) 9/10
  • Interface and usability (15%) 8.5/10
  • Availability at licensed casinos (10%) 6/10
Overall 7.7

Strong modern mechanics with real potential. The main risk is not the game but the RTP version the operator has set.

Maths — 6.0. The base 96.33% is above the market norm, and on its own this figure would deserve an eight. The score is sharply lowered by the range of configurations: the 86.25% version turns Le Fisherman into a fundamentally different game in terms of value, and the choice is made by the casino, not the player.

Win potential — 9.0. x15,000 is a serious figure, thirty times higher than the classic machines of the Hot Fruits series. It falls short of a ten only because the maximum can be reached exclusively through a bonus that cannot be bought.

Features — 9.0. Cluster Pays, Super Cascades, Golden Squares, collector symbols, multipliers, three bonus rounds and five buy options with separate maths. In terms of richness, it is the opposite of classic slots.

Interface and usability — 8.5. Bets from €0.10, autoplay, Turbo and Super Turbo, full mobile optimization.

Availability — 6.0. The weakest criterion. Hacksaw Gaming is much less widely represented in Ukrainian catalogs than Amatic or Endorphina, and the slot itself only came out in February 2026.

The rating was assigned on September 11, 2026 using the JoyFactory methodology. You can see who worked on this review on our editorial team page.

Frequently asked questions

What is the RTP of the Le Fisherman slot?

The base configuration is 96.33%, which is above the market norm. But Hacksaw also supplies the game in 94.33%, 92.34% and 86.25% versions, and the casino decides which one to install. The difference between the top and bottom versions exceeds ten percentage points, so checking the actual value in the game's info panel is a must.

How much can you win in Le Fisherman?

The maximum is x15,000 the bet. At the maximum €50 bet, that is €750,000. An important detail: such a payout can only be reached through the Smokey Under Water bonus round, and this round cannot be bought — none of the paid entry options lead to it.

How does the Golden Squares mechanic work in Le Fisherman?

When a winning cluster pays, the positions under its symbols become golden squares. They build up and stay inactive until a Rainbow or Epic Rainbow symbol appears on the grid; then coins or diamonds with a face value are revealed under them. The longer the cascade sequence, the more squares build up.

Which bonus buy option is the best value?

By return, it is the cheapest one, x3 BonusHunt FeatureSpins: its RTP is 96.33%, the same as the base game. The more expensive options have a slightly lower return (from 96.14% to 96.31%) and noticeably higher volatility. In other words, a paid buy shortens the time to the bonus but does not improve your chances in the long run.

What is the volatility of Le Fisherman?

Hacksaw rates it at 3 out of 5, which is medium. The hit frequency is high, though, at 42%, meaning wins land almost every other spin. The base game runs smoothly, and all the swings are concentrated in the bonus rounds.

Does Le Fisherman have a gamble feature?

No. Unlike classic Amatic and Endorphina slots, there is no card or color double-up here. All the extra mechanics are concentrated in the bonus rounds and the bonus buy.

How is Le Fisherman different from Le Bandit?

They share the Golden Squares mechanic. Le Fisherman has a higher declared maximum: x15,000 versus the official x10,000 in Le Bandit. In addition, this game in the series plays more smoothly, with lower volatility and a high hit frequency.
