Tamara Kovalenko

Editor-in-chief & fact-checker

Verifies operator data, license status and bonus terms before publication. Keeps ratings consistent.

Tamara Kovalenko is responsible at JoyFactory for making sure that ratings in different reviews are comparable and that the facts in our content are verified. She approves the operator testing protocol, aligns scores between the casino and betting verticals, and keeps review dates and changelogs up to date.

No review is published until Tamara Kovalenko has checked it. When an author’s impression and a document disagree, the decision goes in favor of the document.

What she checks before publication

  1. Legal details. Who runs the platform, which jurisdiction is stated in the documents, whether the name of the legal entity matches the register and whether the claimed license can be verified.
  2. Bonus terms. Minimum deposit, wagering, wagering period, maximum allowed bet, games excluded from the promotion, limits on bonus winnings and conditions for cancelling the bonus.
  3. Payment terms. Available methods, minimum amounts, limits, fees, request processing times and the requirement to withdraw by the same method used for the deposit.
  4. Verification procedure. Which documents the operator requests, at what stage, and whether it explains the KYC rules before a withdrawal request is submitted.
  5. Responsible gambling. Self-limitation tools, information about risks and a clear 21+ label for the Ukrainian audience.
  6. Dates and sources. Every figure and every legally significant statement must be backed up and carry a check date.

Editorial principles

A review starts not with writing but with gathering information: first the platform is studied, the legal documents are found and the bonus rules are checked. The operator’s advertising claims are not repeated as confirmed facts: if a casino calls its payouts instant, the times are checked against the rules, not against the banner on the home page.

Personal opinion is kept separate from objective description. How convenient an interface is depends on the user, while a license, a minimum deposit or a bonus validity period are verifiable facts, and they are presented differently. Template descriptions that would fit any casino are not published: every platform has its own terms, interface and payment policy, and the author’s job is to find these specifics.

A review shows not only the operator’s strengths but also its limitations. Style gets special attention too: the text should not be overloaded with jargon, but oversimplifying it leads to a loss of meaning.

Experience

A journalist by education and a specialist in marketing, social media and content for iGaming projects.

She trained at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, where she learned to work with sources, verify information and make complex topics accessible to a wide audience.

Later, marketing and SMM were added to her journalism skills: working with digital communities, brand communication and social media content. Her work with Already Media gave her a practical understanding of iGaming content and the specifics of working with an international audience.

The combination of these three areas shapes her approach to editing:

  • journalism: working with facts, logical structure, checking primary sources;
  • marketing: understanding audience needs and user behavior;
  • iGaming: attention to details that change, such as bonus terms, payment limits, withdrawal rules and document requirements.

She also considers how readers will take in content on different devices: a long text must stay clear on a smartphone, so clear headings, short paragraphs, relevant lists and tables with the key parameters matter.
