Sports betting reviews expert

Reviews and tests bookmakers: odds, markets, betting rules, bonuses and payouts.

Dmytro Kolesnikov is responsible for the bookmaker vertical at JoyFactory. He writes operator reviews, bookmaker rankings and guides to free bets and betting bonuses, as well as the sports categories and the betting school.

He takes every bookmaker through a full test cycle according to our methodology: registration, a deposit of his own money, verification, a withdrawal request and a support request. His reviews give the actual times and terms, not the ones claimed by the operator.

What he checks at every bookmaker

Legal status. Which company runs the website, where it is registered, which license it operates under and which countries it accepts customers from. He checks age restrictions, the responsible gambling policy and the complaints procedure.

Betting line and market depth. He studies the line on popular and niche events, compares odds, and assesses the number of markets and how quickly they update in live mode.

Settlement rules. He looks separately at how the bookmaker handles non-standard situations: a postponed match, a lineup change, an event ending early, an obvious error in the odds, a cancelled market. The rules for settling such cases often reveal the platform’s real quality.

Bonuses. Minimum deposit, turnover requirements, minimum odds, eligible bet types, the time limit for meeting the terms and the maximum winnings. If a bonus ad does not match the detailed rules, the review says so.

Payouts. Betting and withdrawal limits, fees, actual request processing times and verification requirements.

Platform and support. The mobile version and app, navigation, stats and live streams, how clear the verification procedure is, and whether support can give a specific answer about the rules or payments.

Industry experience

An iGaming journalist from Kyiv, he has been covering sports betting professionally for more than eight years. Over that time he has followed the growth of online bookmakers, changes in their products and the shift of a large part of the audience from desktop websites to mobile platforms.

His experience writing for the sports platform TRIBUNA helped him understand the audience’s needs and how to present information about teams, tournaments, individual matches and betting markets. Later he expanded his work to iGaming: besides betting platforms, he began analyzing online casinos, bonus programs, payment tools and mobile apps.

His studies at the National Aviation University taught him to work with information systematically. In journalism and betting, this approach helps him structure large amounts of data, spot contradictions and explain to readers which product features really matter.

Hands-on betting experience lets him analyze products not only from a journalist’s point of view: he understands the questions a player has when choosing an event, placing a bet and receiving a payout, and answers them directly in the review.

Approach to reviews

Dmytro Kolesnikov believes that a review which simply repeats the information from a bookmaker’s home page is of no use. An author has to test the product, compare the terms and explain what they mean for the user.

High odds or a big bonus do not by themselves make a platform worthwhile: what matters is the breadth of the line, settlement rules, the margin, limits and the withdrawal procedure. An attractive bonus may come with high wagering, a short validity period, a maximum bet cap or a list of games that do not count toward wagering.

He places particular emphasis on a responsible attitude to gambling: betting should not be seen as a way to make money, because even thorough analysis does not remove the risk.
